How does the Text Compare tool detect changes?
The tool uses a client-side Longest Common Subsequence (LCS) diff algorithm to compare two texts. It identifies exact additions, deletions, and modified text segments at the word, character, or line level.
What is the difference between Side-by-Side and Unified view?
Side-by-Side view places both versions next to each other in two synchronous columns with highlighted differences. Unified view blends changes into a single readable stream, displaying deletions in red strikethrough and additions in green.
Is my confidential text private when comparing documents?
Yes. 100% of the diff calculation occurs locally in your browser session. Neither document is ever uploaded to a server or stored.
Can I compare code or markdown drafts?
